Building a Cleaner Community Through Waste Management and Environmental Action

On the morning of September 11, 2026, the Lutheran Hope Cambodia Organization (LHCO), in close collaboration with commune authorities, teachers, students, youth, health center representatives, and community members, organized an “Campaign on Environmental Cleanup and Trash Bin Handover” in Bour Commune, Phnom Proek District, Battambang Province.

The campaign brought together 108 participants, including 63 women, demonstrating strong community engagement and collective commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier environment.

The activity aimed to raise awareness about environmental hygiene, proper waste management, and the practice of the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Participants actively contributed to cleaning public areas in the community and learned how to properly and safely sort waste by type, helping promote responsible waste management practices.
