In Pursat Province, Kul Totueng Primary School serves a large area of Kravanh District. Ms. Theng Ridet, a Grade 1 teacher, explained that the damaged the school’s old and damaged buildings were not suitable for education. A particular concern was the leaking roof which made it difficult to even conduct classes regularly during the rainy season.

After requesting support from people inside and outside the community, the assessment of the needs was undertaken. As a result, a new primary school building,
handwashing stations, and sanitation facilities for Kul Totueng were constructed.

The transformation of the school and classroom has allowed both students and teachers to feel safe, happy, and motivated in their new environment. Ms. Theng Ridet is very appreciative of the support from the project and hopes to see continued improvements in the quality of education in her rural area.
